[Verse: Bodo Wartke & Marti Fischer]
Once upon a time in a small town, there
Lived a girl named Barbara
And this Barbara was well known all over the country
For her incredibly good rhubarb pie
Yes, you could say that Barbara's
Rhubarb pie, without any ifs and buts
Was a downright magical experience
Abracadabra
Well, this cake was downright amazing
And the demand for it increased drastically
In that very same year, Barbara opened
A bar and called it "Barbara's Rhubarb Bar"
There were also a few barbarians in the town
They had heard about Barbara's Rhubarb Bar
And since they visited Barbara's every day from then on
They were soon called the "Rhubarb Bar Barbarians"
In the following years, the barbarians
Gradually revealed their babaric bearing
They were, Barbara claimed
Almost more sympathetic than Barbapapa
But the barbarians were very hairy
And they all had a shaggy barbarian beard (Not elegant at all)
Thereupon, Barbara sent her
Barbarian friends to the Barbarian Beard Barber
He even styled the barbarians' entire heads
In his Barbarian Beard Barber's Barber Shop
Admittedly, he was a terrible chatterbox
But the beard was absolutely tip-top afterward
Thereupon, the barbarians finely invited their beard barber
To the rhubarb bar after the work was done
There, they drank a beer at the beer
The Rhubarb Bar Barbarians and the Beard Barber
And ate, without any barbarity
A piece of rhubarb pie, I think it was two
Yes, there, even very tough men became approachable
And all thanks to Barbara's rhubarb
[Outro: Bodo Wartke & Marti Fischer]
Three barbarians and the bearded barber
Were sitting at the bar one evening with a beer
The police came, yes, where have you been?
Three barbarians and the beard barber
