Larry Groce - Larry Groce Intro (Live)

I moved to West Virginia 44 years ago. I used to live in Barbour County, West Virginia, in a valley between Philippi and Clarksburg. And all around the valley the Pittsburgh Vein had been mined in the '50's so there was still perpendicular wall, they didn't have to put it back then. So you could still see that all around the valley, just at the top 'cause some trees had grown up. But once you had to get above where the mine was before you got to where the big trees grew again so I wrote this song about that. I went out once on a New Years Day, must've been in the '80s
