Quavo Leads Two-Song Tribute to Pop Smoke at the 2020 BET Hip Hop Awards

Quavo paid homage to his late collaborator Pop Smoke at the 2020 BET Hip Hop Awards on Tuesday (Oct. 27), performing a pair of songs the two had hits with together this year, "Shake the Room" and "Aim For the Moon."

The Migos rapper performed his guest contributions from a futuristic-looking white room, as on video billboards outside the room's window, Pop Smoke's own verses and choruses were displayed. Quavo wore a jean jacket with "Shoot for the Stars" on the front and "Aim for the Moon" on the back while performing.

"Shake the Room" originally appeared on Pop's Meet the Woo 2 mixtape from early 2020, while "Aim For the Moon" of course comes from his posthumous official debut LP Shoot For the Stars Aim For the Moon from July. Both appeared on the Billboard Hot 100, with "Shake" peaking at No. 93 and "Aim" bowing at No. 34. (A new video for "Aim For the Moon" was released earlier this week, with adolescent stand-ins playing the roles of Pop Smoke and Quavo.)

Pop Smoke was victorious earlier in the evening in his lone nomination on the night, winning the BET Hip Hop Award for best new hip hop artist.
