Doja Cat Rocks Out With 'Say So' at 2020 MTV EMAs

Doja Cat offered up a more rockin' rendition of her catchy hit "Say So" at the MTV Europe Music Awards on Sunday (Nov. 8).

Rather than the bright and pop-y beat fans may have expected at the outset of the song, Doja Cat -- who is nominated for two awards -- the singer went for a darker sound and look. As her performance began, the 25-year-old crawled out of a TV screen in a field of daisies, her head down, messy hair draped over her face, clad in a tattered one-shoulder white dress, evoking Samara from The Ring.

When the music kicks in, it's screaming guitars that roar, transforming the hit into a louder, harder rock 'n' roll song. "Day to night to morning, keep with me in the moment I'd let you had I known it, why don't you say so?/ Didn't even notice, no punches left to roll with/ You got to keep me focused, you want it, say so," she practically growls.

This year's show was hosted by Little Mix, minus Jesy Nelson, who is sick, the group shared Saturday. Other performers include DaBaby, David Guetta, Alicia Keys, Sam Smith, and many more. Lady Gag leads in nominations this year with seven.

The MTV EMAs air globally at 7 p.m. ET.
