Miranda Lambert took the stage at the 54th annual CMA Awards on Wednesday (Nov. 11) to perform "Settling Down."
Backed by just two guitarists -- socially distanced -- on stage as she performed in front of fellow musicians in attendance (who were also sitting at tables that were set apart), Lambert offered a quiet set.
"I'm a wild child and a homing pigeon Caravan and an empty kitchen/ Bare feet on the tile with my head up in the clouds/ I'm one heart goin' both directions/ One love and a couple of questions/ Am I settlin' up or settlin' down?" she asks in song.
After her performance, Lambert -- who led the night with seven nominations -- received a standing ovation from attendees.
The tune is the third single from her seventh studio album, 2018's Wildcard. The video, which was released Oct. 21, features her husband, Brendan McLoughlin.
The show was filmed live from downtown Nashville's Music City Center in front of an audience, with attendees sitting at socially distanced tables as the global coronavirus pandemic continues. Country icon Reba McEntire and Darius Rucker co-hosted the show. It was McEntire's fifth time emceeing the ceremony. Ahead of the event, multiple acts -- including Florida Georgia Line and Lee Brice -- pulled out either due to a positive test or exposure to COVID-19.
