Angela Aguilar honors artisan women

This week, Angela Aguilar paid tribute to the beautiful and hardworking labor of artisan women in Mexico. In a photo, where she’s wearing a hand-made traditional dress, the Regional Mexican songstress expressed, “I carry our traditions in the embroideries of my dresses wherever we go, it fills me with pride to stand on stage dressed in Mexico.” Aguilar’s post was in celebration of World Embroidery Day on July 30.

NEON 16, Tommy Mottola, and MITH Media unite for a good cause

Multifaceted talent incubator NEON16, music executive Tommy Mottola, and MITH Media have joined forces with the mission of changing the world, together. This week, co-founders Lex Borrero, Marco “Tainy” Masis, Tommy Mottola, and Charlie Guerrero, launched HUMAN (X), a multimedia charity initiative with the purpose of curating and funding messages of humanity. Their goal, according to an official statement, is to spotlight and fund important causes to create a tangible solution.

On August 5th, HUMAN (X) will debut a charity single dubbed “Pa’ La Cultura” in collaboration with David Guetta, Sofia Reyes, Abraham Mateo, De La Ghetto, Manuel Turizo, Zion & Lennox, Lalo Ebratt, Thalia, and Maejor. All proceeds will be donated to the National Day Laborer Organizing Network (NDLON) and their ART/WORKS fellowship program to help immigrants impacted by the global health crisis.

Latin representation at the MTV VMAs

Earlier this week, MTV announced the nominations for the 2020 Video Music Awards with Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga leading the pack with nine noms each. This year’s nominees also include Latin artists Anuel AA, Daddy Yankee, Bad Bunny, Ozuna, Karol G, J Balvin, Maluma, CNCO, Natti Natasha, and Rosalia. The 2020 MTV Video Music Awards 2020 will air on Sunday, Aug. 30 at 8 p.m. ET, live from Brooklyn's Barclays Center.

Inspired by Natti Natasha’s latest song “Que Mal Te Fue,” Venezuelan comedian Marko Musica and the Dominican singer shared a new comedy skit that’s totally relatable. In the short video, Marko is seen hiding in the bathroom, sending voice messages to his ex-girlfriend, portrayed by Natti, and telling her that he can't forget her. Meanwhile, Marko’s new girlfriend is waiting for him outside, without a clue that he’s missing his ex. Watch it below.
