Shirley Bassey recorded several songs in Italian in the late 1960s, including this song, Chi Si Vuol Bene Come Noi.' During this time period her albums were not selling well. Shirley's music was one of the many casualties of The Beatles era, as people from around the world wanted to listen to Rock N Roll, not Classical POP. Shirley was married to an Italian at the time, Sergio Novak, and he encouraged her to pursue recording songs in Italian. Well, she did, and she received several chart hits for her efforts, including this song. Only a few years later, in 1970, Shirley would change the types of songs she recorded, and would once again be back on top of the hit parade.
Most of Shirley's live performances on Italian TV are not on Youtube, as Italy is very protective of their Copyright laws. Thankfully, this particular performance was filmed in Monte Carlo, where Dame Shirley currently lives.
