Text from Auguries of Innocence, William Blake (1757-1827):
To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour
‘Nowadays, moments seem to be chopped up into oblivion; all of reality is TikTok-like. My idea, then, was to make an hour’s worth of music setting just those four opening lines – to do exactly what Blake compels us to do and find “Eternity in an hour”.’
Eternity in an Hour, Eric Whitacre, Vlaams Radiokoor, Amy Norrington & Koenraad Sterckx
