Sometimes singing a pop song takes on the power of testifying. Artists put so much passion into getting their emotional message across that their vehemence just sweeps you away. That’s kinda what happened when Ama Lou hit our studio for a romp through “Patience.” Watch the clip and it’s easy to see the passion of her performance start to peak with each new lyric line, and literally explode when her bandmates crash in for the final flourish. “Patience” is from the UK singer’s debut album, ‘I Came Home Late,’ which arrived last September. Like its predecessor EP, ‘AT LEAST WE HAVE THIS,’ it’s received mucho applause from diehards who’ve followed AL since her 2019 “NORTHSIDE” success, to newbies who found the recent “Silence” and “Caught Me Running” rather irresistible. We were tickled to have her clock “Patience” and the equally fierce “Played Me.”
