George's Journal - Day 88: Electric Avenue

March 28th, 2024

Today was a true battle with jet lag, waking up at a lazy 2:30 PM. The eastward flight back to Nashville certainly took its toll, but there was no time to wallow as the immediate task at hand was restoring some normalcy — starting with my electricity.

Heading straight to the Nashville Electric Service headquarters, I managed to reinstate my electricity account. The relief of knowing I'd soon have power back at my apartment spurred me on through the day.

Once the power issue was resolved, it was off to Costco to replenish my barren fridge. The vast aisles of Costco are always a test of willpower, a paradise packed with all the things we don't really need but somehow seem essential at the moment.

After stocking up, we took advantage of the beautiful spring weather to reintegrate into Nashville life. A long walk around the city helped shake off the last of the flight fatigue and allowed me to reconnect with the vibrant city life. The warmer weather and bustling streets were a welcome change from the dreary winter days we'd left behind.

Ending the day, I opted for a simple dinner— a cauliflower pizza from Costco—and then it was early to bed, hoping to reset my internal clock and fully embrace the rhythms of my Nashville life.

Until tomorrow,

G.Shep xx
