What is Amapiano?
Amapiano, loosely translated to "the pianos", is a subgenre of house & kwaito music that emerged in my home country South Africa around the mid-2010s. It is a hybrid of deep house, jazz, and lounge music characterized by synths and wide, percussive basslines using what is known as the "log drum".
