Bridget Kearney "Sleep In" LIVE at Altamira Sound, Los Angeles

"Sleep In" from the album "Comeback Kid" performed live at Altamira Sound (also where the studio version was recorded!) Dan and Rob were close collaborators on making the album with me and Solomon is one of the most badass bass players on the planet, we have known each other since meeting at The Iowa City Jazz Festival in high school!!

"Sleep In" is a fast lullaby for someone who has no idea how cool they are! The world moves pretty fast sometimes so it’s helpful to find peace at a fast pace. The harmony is loosely based off of a passage from Samuel Barber’s “Adagio For Strings” which I had a profound experience listening to at my chiropractor’s one time. He put this electric pad on my back and turned it up and then said “I’m just gonna leave you in here for a few minutes to cook” and then turned on “Adagio For Strings” and left the room. I can’t say if it was the electric pad or the lush, gorgeous harmonies, but my back is better now.

Bridget Kearney -- piano and vocals
Dan Molad -- drums and mixing
Solomon Dorsey -- bass
Rob Shelton -- trident and engineering
Charlie Weinmann -- filming
