Colin Hay Men At Work "Down Under" Live from the 2000 Sydney Olympics

The closing ceremony of the 2000 Sydney Olympics, may arguably be the biggest show that I’ll ever be part of. 150,000 people in the stadium, and an estimated world viewing audience of 2 billion. I must admit it was a little nerve wracking. I thought “please don’t let tonight be the night that I screw up the words, in front of 2 billion people.” I only messed up a little.

The top moment for me, was of course when Cathy Freeman won Gold for the 400 meters. She ran the most perfect race I have ever had the good fortune to witness. It was inspirational and made me cry the fat tears of joy. Gave me hope for the future of our beautiful land, and for all who walk upon it.
