Everly Brothers International Archive : Grand Ole Opry (June 1957)

In June 1957 the Everlys performed for the first time on that magical stage and would do so for many times more in the following years until the Opry decided that all that beat in the background wasn't very suitable for that holy shrine of Country music (☺)

In this performance Don & Phil play their first Cadence hit Bye Bye Love and the flip of that record I Wonder If I Care As Much. In between they receive their first gold record from their 'boss' Archie Bleyer head of Cadence Records (see pic in the clip). The show is hosted by Hawkshaw Hawkins.
