Join me as I compose and record a new work to memorialize the bird species that have been driven to extinction by humankind. 'The Lost Birds' will be a requiem--a musical elegy meant to celebrate the beauty of these extinct species. But it will also serve as a warning--just like the story of the canary in the coal mine, the fate that befell these birds is a foreshadowing of our own fate.
This album will feature vocal performances by one of the premiere vocal ensembles in the world, VOCES8, as well as my longtime collaborators, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
I'll be documenting in detail every aspect of the creative process: from composing, to recording, to mixing, to release--through updates, live streams, behind-the-scenes videos and more. It'll be an unprecedented all-access glimpse into the creative process as it unfolds, and you won't want to miss it.
