Duran Duran - Nick Rhodes Receives the Roland Lifetime Achievement Award 2021

On January 20, 2021, Roland presented its sixth-annual Lifetime Achievement Award to founding member and keyboardist of Duran Duran, Nick Rhodes.

Few synth players have made a greater impact on music than Nick Rhodes. As co-founder of the iconic British band Duran Duran, his signature lines can be heard on every single one of the band's 14 studio albums while his trusty Roland JUPITER-4 and JUPITER-8 continues to ride shotgun as the band performs to huge concert audiences around the world.

Known for his experimentation with analog synthesizers, Rhodes has a career spanning more than 40 years and resulting in 21 singles on the US Billboard Hot 100, more than 100 million records sold and innumerable GRAMMY, BRIT, MTV and Ivor Novello awards. Nick’s visionary approach to sound has helped Duran Duran create music that remains timeless—wherever synth technology goes next, expect Nick Rhodes to be on the front line.

Past recipients of the Roland Lifetime Achievement Award include: Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Thomas Dolby, Jean-Michel Jarre, Omar Hakim, and Phuture's DJ Pierre & Spanky.
