Meditation is simple. It is the act of observing ourselves and our breath. There should be no expectation of achieving a state of "thoughtlessness" or mental inactivity, nor Nirvana, nor enlightenment. Meditation is simply a tool used to ground ourselves back in our breath, thereby bringing our cognitive attentions and physical experience into-the-moment.

Use this rhythmic visualizer as a tool to help give 3 minutes back to yourself. Watch and listen to the drumming as you actively follow your breath and observe yourself. Let thoughts come and go, neither denying them nor empowering them. When you feel yourself being distracted, simply return focus to inhalation and exhalation of the breath.
