I've posted this show before but the original audio was quite poor and, given this is a rare broadcast by the classic Kind Of Blue sextet, the music desrved better. I went back to the original to see if I could clean up the sound and I think the results are pretty decent.
The first, most glaring problem was a large amount of low frequency hum. I found the source of the hum and removed most of it, although it wasn't possible to get it all without affecting the music. It's a lot better than it was.
The next problem was the rhythm section being almost inaudible. I attempted to tweak the bass frequencies with partial success but it isn't possible to boost signal that just isn't there to begin with. Chambers' bass feels a little more present than before but it is what it is. I was able to bring out a little more of the drums.
Once I had done all the EQ adjustments, I added a little more sound processing and a small amount of compression to balance things out. What I've ended up with is, I think, much more listenable than before and the music feels alive again.
