Led Zeppelin - Black Dog [July 23rd, 1977]

Led Zeppelin live at the "Day on the Green" festival, at the Oakland–Alameda County Coliseum in Oakland, California - July 23rd, 1977

This is a three-source audience matrix of the final Black Dog performed in North America, also a rare 1977 performance of the song. It uses source 2 as the main "anchor" source, occupying the center, with source 1 occupying the left side of the stereo image, and source 3 occupying the right side.

It also utilizes AI audio separation, similar to the MAL de-mixing technology used in recent Beatles releases. I've used it here to bolster the punch of the drums, and to bring Robert Plant's vocals more to the forefront of the mix.

This Black Dog also features an inverted cover, because in some fantasy universe where this project gets a physical release, this track would be the B-side single, as there would be no room for it on the full LP.

Living Reflections is perhaps my most experimental project to date. It is an LP-length live album featuring hand-picked selections from all across Led Zeppelin's touring years. What makes this project unique is that all of these tracks are matrix mixes of ONLY audience recordings. There are no soundboard recordings featured in this project. This is a first for this channel.

Although the sound fidelity of this project is a step or two behind the usual, I consider this perhaps my proudest achievement to date. It's been slowly brewing since 2021, and it's taken many forms and trajectories, and been subjected to years of tinkering, before settling into this finished product. I hope you enjoy.
