When I was nine years old, my best friend and I stayed up late one night and joined the BMG song club, that thing where you got 12 CDs for a penny. It was so fun.
We eventually flaked on making the monthly payments (obvs) but lucky for us her dad Mike was super into music and basically took over the membership. He kept getting monthly CDs from BMG for a long, long, long time. Until more recently than you’d think 😂
Whenever I saw him, he’d check in to make sure I was up-to-date on what was going on in modern music (I usually wasn’t).
On one visit home during college, he was RAVING about the TLC album Fanmail, which I’d somehow missed. He lent me his copy from BMG and I was immediately and forever hooked on this song. It popped in my head recently and I thought I’d record it as a team loebe video, so here we are.
