#100daysofpractice day 30. Tiling canons are rhythmic canons that, when assembled together, “tile” (i.e. cover) all the available subdivisons of the bar. I’d been meaning to try them with my Natural Machines project for ages, so that’s what I practiced today. Here I’m using a 3-voice tiling canon with 12 subdivisions in the bar, with the harmonic structure to Solar as backdrop. Eventually I start transposing it all up a half step every chorus.
