'The Only Love We Know':
I’ve walked through wild terrain
bare foot, unsteady breath
but I never stopped moving.
Even when the sky turned
and the ground forgot my name.
I’ve outgrown the need to be saved.
Now I let the wind rearrange me
without fear of what leaves.
Some things aren’t meant to stay
and that, too,
is a kind of freedom.
Letting go was a fight at first.
Now it’s a dance.
Not always graceful,
but honest
like fire learning it can warm
without destroying.
I learned from the trees
how to bend without breaking.
From rivers
how to move forward
even when the rocks try to hold you.
From the moon
that wholeness is a cycle,
not a constant.
And love?
Love is no longer a place I lose myself in.
It’s the ground I build on,
the mirror I no longer run from,
the voice inside that doesn’t beg,
but chooses.
This is the only love I know now
the kind that rises with me,
meets me in the stillness,
and calls me home
to myself.
