Carmen Lundy - Art Speaks Jazz© 2021: Love Thy Neighbor

This collection of paintings is about my time in NYC, living and working at my craft as a Jazz vocalist and composer. I’ve put these images to my song “Love Thy Neighbor” from the 2012 album “Changes” on Afrasia Productions. The Self Portraits are a study encompassing my journey in NY, including a stint on the International Touring Company of the Broadway hit musical “Sophisticated Ladies”. The image of Jay Bailey stuck with me when I made my way into the NYC subways, coming across this vibrant musician playing the gutbucket. Some of the other paintings show a distinct perspective and social commentary, the visual equivalent to some of my songs including “Love Thy Neighbor”.

All video footage and artwork is courtesy of Carmen Lundy and Afrasia Productions.

Paintings, sculptures, and the visual arts have become my passion for many years now. Many of my paintings and sculptures have been shown on my CD releases and have also graced the cover of many of my CDs dating back to as early as 1994. My music and artwork are now being shown in sync using the video format, and the artwork is now available for purchase! www.carmenlundy.com
