George's Journal - Day 105: Strumming the Right Chord

May 14th, 2024

Today was a blend of camaraderie, music, and the peculiarities of Nashville life. We kicked things off with a mission to gather our crew for a BBQ that promised to be a feast for the ages.

First order of business was picking up our manager, Chuggi, from his hotel. With Chuggi in tow, we headed back to my apartment complex, where we had a day of grilling and chilling planned. Friends like Forest Blakk and his lovely wife Tooley, along with Michael Chase and his family, were set to join us. The agenda? Cooking up a storm and enjoying the sunshine with good company and great food.

Once everyone was settled, I made a quick trip over to Zak Kuhn’s place. Zak's stepping in for our guitarist for the next few shows, so it was time to run through the Sheppard songs. We had a blast jamming together, and it was great to see Zak picking up the tunes with ease. It's always a good time when music is involved, especially when you’re sharing it with someone new.

On the way back home, Nashville decided to throw in a bit of local flavor. I found myself behind a gang of motorcyclists and quad bikers burning rubber through the streets. One bloke even did a wheelie all the way down the bridge! It was like something out of a stunt show—entertaining, if not slightly terrifying to know these people are out on the roads.

As if the wild ride wasn’t enough, the city's drivers were out in full frustrating force today. Nashville, I love you, but your drivers could use a lesson in road etiquette.

All in all, it was a day packed with friends, music, and a bit of unexpected excitement. As the sun set, I felt grateful for the moments of joy and camaraderie, even if they came with a side of Nashville’s unique brand of chaos.

Until tomorrow,

G.Shep xx
