One of the most overtly “churchy” moments on the new record is this little refrain that uses the word “holy.” That word used to feel like an exclusionary word to me. Like a comparison word—“this noun is more elevated or “holy” than that one.” But now I see the concept of holiness more like a descriptor of the fundamental Livingness that can be experienced in any moment through anything. Pay close enough attention to this breath, this flower, this stone, and what you find is not just a noun (a static thing), but a living Presence. The Movement of all that is. And when you see this, everything begins to shimmer with glory.
