The snowfall remix of Rise was written in 2012. I was unmarried at the time, and music hadn't become my full time job just yet. Any music I produced had to be recorded after my normal workday was finished. I'd stay up late into the early hours of the morning with no other goal than to write something that brought me joy. That particular winter, Kentucky got lots of snow. The soft, quiet kind. Outside of my little studio window I'd often see it falling and gently coating the world outside as I worked. Each layer making everything more and more quiet. There's a mystery to winter nights, and I hope this song has captured some of it...
