A political scientist these past 40 years, Kurt recorded this on the second anniversary of his father’s death; coincidentally, that date (August 29) was also the 15th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina’s landfall in Louisiana, and the subsequent flooding and near-destruction of New Orleans, a city he’s come to call his second home. His son spent that weekend in a local hospital, along with his wife, listening as the storm battered the outer walls. Fortunately, both were unhurt, and his son made a complete recovery, but you can understand from that why Kurt has a firm believe that “better times always await”.
