"I wish record labels would stop making my friends cry"

So basically, I went to an event in Nashville, saw the same old 50 year+ major label A&R faces circling & buzzing like hungry birds of prey around another young, impressionable, emotionally vulnerable girl wanting to make her stardom dreams come true, and it ended with her legit crying in a hallway in my arms a couple minutes later because she felt so confused and kind of violated after explaining to me that these were the same men that consistently told her she wasn't good enough to sign with them when she had reached out previously. The boundary violation and emotional whiplash involved with that kind of gaslighting is something I related to having dealt with teh same, especially considering the context. Right after i came home from that event I guess I just had to get those feelings out. Here they are!

Lyrics:

"I know this really means alot ot you
that you're not sure what you should do
you know the sharks are often next to you
but this time thet're closer than you're used to

you say it's moving way too fast for you
it's hard to tell who really tells the truth
I hate that I know what you're going through
I wish this burden hadn't come to you

I want you to be happy
I want you to be free
I want you to give all that you wanna give
and be the best that you can be

I just hope that you're happy."
