First of all I’d like to thank Salif Keïta for giving me the opportunity to work with the original vocal stems of his classic song ‘Madan’ and giving me permission to release my own version of this song. I’ve been in love with the original for so long now and I’m so grateful I could give it my own twist. For this tune I went for the sound that I’m most known for. It’s a typical ‘Bakermat’ mix of piano, saxophone, guitar, choir vocals and bass that will be pretty recognizable. I did experiment a little too though! The drop is mostly inspired by Electro House I downloaded on blogs around 2010, and it also is one of the first times I’m using an acoustic guitar like this. All together it’s a track I loved creating and I’m really excited for people to hear this. I think it can serve as a really good summer anthem!
A few months ago I came across a video of the Australian creator and aerial photographer Saxon Kent using one of my tracks. I was so inspired by his amazing content that I asked him to create a full video for 'Madan (King)'! I think he gave the perfect summer kick to the video and I can finally share it with you all.
