George's Journal - Day 89: Beats and Burgers feat. Beyoncé

March 29th, 2024

Today I managed to fight off the clutches of jet lag a bit more effectively, rising at a somewhat more reasonable hour of 11 AM. A strong coffee kick-started my day and set the tone for a musically inclined afternoon.

I've been itching to get back to my studio setup, and today seemed like the perfect opportunity. But first, I indulged in a listen and a basic review of Beyonce’s new country album—a refreshing twist from her usual style.

Inspired by the music, I dove deep into producing a new instrumental song. The creative process was exhilarating, feeling the familiar rush of mixing and shaping sounds after being away from my tools for so long.

Later in the day, I picked up Tasir, and we headed to the supermarket to gather ingredients for the evening. Tasir promised homemade burgers for dinner. He's a magnificent home chef, and the excitement of burgers added a level of anticipation to my afternoon.

Dinner was a communal affair with our lovely neighbors. It turned into an impromptu dance session as the girls attempted to teach our neighbor Grace the choreography to "Edge of the Earth." The evening was filled with laughter, delicious food, and great company—a perfect way to settle back into Nashville life.

After a day filled with music and merriment, it was time to hit the hay, feeling content and creatively satisfied.

Until tomorrow,

G.Shep xx
