From The Unconquerable Past, Marie is a conversation between myself and a woman who appeared as I was messing around with the guitar pattern. Equal parts Frustrated, bitter, sad and angry, Marie has a bunch to say about the kind of misogyny, racism and greed that seems to typify the last several years of the world's news cycle. The Sentimentals capture the spirit of this piece beautifully and a particular shoutout goes to Nikolaj Wolf and his gorgeous double bass parts.
