Aidan Pohl // Voyager 2

#musicfromthemoon

This is my submission for the Music from the moon songwriting competition. It is written from the perspective of the Voyager 2. Enjoy :)

Lyrics

Taking pictures of Jupiter, I'll send them back when I find the time

From erupting volcanoes to oceans covered in ice

Saturn is breath taking and seventy thousand miles wide, wide, wide

Two abandoned wedding rings, what a terrifyingly beautiful find

The moon was but a first kiss, I

Got chills when I had made it

No use now and you know this

You've noticed

I know I know I'm half way across the galaxy

Was it worth for you did I send you back what you need

Now I'm running low on love and batteries

Hope I've done enough will you send another one after me

It started to get cold when blue planets were all I could see

eighty six was a turning point, I was launched by gravity

It's been thirty years since Neptune and its still the closest thing to me

I'll be forty two in august, is anyone still counting?

The moon was but a first kiss, I

Got chills when I had made it

No use now and you know this

You've noticed

I know I know I'm half way across the galaxy

Was it worth for you did I send you back what you need

Now I'm running low on love and batteries

Hope I've done enough will you send another one after me

Dark was the night, Cold was the Ground

I think I finally understand that feeling now

Of the two of us, I, was the trophy they held

Now in the dark I play music to myself (x3)

I know I know I'm half way across the galaxy

Was it worth for you did I send you back what you need

Now I'm running low on love and batteries

Hope I've done enough will you send another one after me (x2)

I know I know I'm half way across the galaxy

Was it worth for you did I send you back what you need

Now I'm running low on love and batteries

Hope I've done enough will you send another one after me (x2)
