American Country music singer and songwriter Crystal Gayle has been a groundbreaking force in the country pop genre since her debut single “I’ve Cried (The Blues Right Out of My Eyes)” in 1970. Throughout her career, Gayle has released a whopping 25 studio albums, and has charted 34 Top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, with 18 of those hitting No. 1. “Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue” and “You And I” with Eddie Rabbitt also hit the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. The accompanying album to the former of these tracks, We Must Believe in Magic, also become the first album by a female Country artist to ever go platinum. Other notable hits include “Talking In Your Sleep”, “Half the Way”, “I’ll Get Over You” and “If You Ever Change Your Mind”.

Between 1976 and 1995, Crystal Gayle was nominated for eleven GRAMMY awards, and received one win for Best Country Vocal Performance, Female at the 20th Annual GRAMMY awards. During this time, she also won two Country Music Association Awards, four Academy of Country Music Awards, and four American Music Awards. Gayle continued to perform regularly in the 2000s and 2010s and continued to earn a number of awards, including her induction into the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame in 2008, receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2009, winning the Academy of Country Music’s Cliffie Stone Pioneer Award for her contributions to Country Music in 2015, and, possibly the biggest feat of all, her entrance into the Grand Ole Opry in 2017. Today, Crystal Gayle continues to perform for and entertain audiences across the nation.
