When Dee Watkins isn’t grabbing snacks at the gas station or ripping through the streets of Baker County with his ATV squad, he’s busy becoming one of Florida’s most promising rappers. Early days saw the young MC riding the melodic rap wave with tracks like “Down For It.” That got SoundCloud listeners paying attention. But then Dee doubled back to straight up spittin' and landed a viral hit in 2019. Filled with memories of skirting poverty, petty crimes, and similar pitfalls of his youth, “Bad Ass Jit” cast the 23-year-old as a deft teller of vivid trench stories. It also earned him more than 40 million YouTube views. Since then, he’s dropped a trilogy of ‘Problem Child’ LPs, followed this year by a string of singles. “Times Up” and “For The Birds” are the latest.
