Elton John - I Can't Go On Living Without You (Arranged Band Version / Lyric Video)

Written and recorded in Summer 1968, I Can’t Go On Living Without You marks the high point and the finale of this period of Elton and Bernie writing-to-order pop. In fact, as Elton revealed in Me, although credited to Bernie, he had again written the lyrics by himself. The track was selected for consideration for the UK’s Eurovision Song Contest entry in 1969. ‘I Can’t Go On Living Without You’ was sung by UK songstress Lulu on her BBC1 primetime show Happening For Lulu on Saturday February 1, 1969.
Now it’s time to hear the Elton original for the first time. Mark ‘Spike’ Stent has given the unreleased 1968 mix – one of the many gems of Jewel Box – a 2020 polish in time to celebrate one of the most eagerly awaited releases of the year.
