I dug out this old demo of the Elvis Classic If I Can Dream, one of Elvis’s greatest songs, recorded roughly in 1996. I demo’d it for PJ Proby when Neal X and I co-produced an album for him called Legend. Jim wanted all the songs demo’d so it would give him an idea of how he should sing them although he himself demo’d for Elvis. I think he was just being mischievous. I sound a lot younger on this demo and it makes me realised how much my voice has dropped. I think its not a bad demo though.
Tried to find a suitable photo from when I visited Graceland around the same time to film a piece about Elvis for TV. I couldn’t find one so here is a nice shot by Mike Owen
