George's Journal - Day 81: Family First

March 22nd, 2024

Today was rich with family moments, each one more precious than the last. It began with a heartfelt project—filming an in-depth interview with our beloved Baba, Zora Pugl. Delving into her life story is something I've longed to do, and capturing her memories on camera was truly special.

With an upcoming appearance on morning TV in Sydney, I squeezed in a quick tanning session to make sure I looked my best on screen. However, the need for a quick lunch led to a slightly awkward moment as I dashed into Subway, still in my fresh tan amidst the lunchtime crowd—a humorous memory in retrospect!

Cleaned up and feeling more like myself, the afternoon brought an even more cherished moment: picking up my daughter Madison from school in Springfield Lakes. With her recently acquiring her L's, I had the joy of taking her for her first ever driving lesson—a milestone that'll stick with us both forever.

The day culminated in a celebration of another important family member—my mother, Linda Sheppard. Since we'll be away for her actual birthday, we threw a BBQ dinner party a bit early. It was an evening filled with warmth as we went around the table sharing our favorite things about her. The expressions of love made it one of her most memorable birthdays.

We wrapped up the night with birthday cake and board games, basking in the laughter and camaraderie that only a close-knit family gathering can bring.

A beautiful day indeed, surrounded by loved ones, creating memories that will linger long after the candles have been blown out.

Until tomorrow,

G.Shep xx
