Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness
And all these things will be given to you as well
Those of us ready to submit to the will of God
Still have a difficult time letting go
Or knowing what he would have for us
Some of us are smart enough to know we don’t know
But not smart enough to figure out our purpose
In the chaos and addictive booby traps of the world
Seek first his kingdom
And his righteousness
This statement can act as an anchor in the storm of life
It gives us a direction
So that when we first seek him
Our actions become aligned with revelations that bloom silently in our mind
Our minds where the battle of principalities are taking place
Are minefields of confusion
Thoughts are often demonic suggestions
Driving us crazy
And taking us down ludicrous pathways
But in our confusion
We can use the chaos to act as alarm bells
To seek first his kingdom and his righteousness
We can ask for guidance and silence
And it makes sense
That all these things will be given to us as well
Because we are tapping into our true purpose here
And not motivated by fear and lack
Which brings nothing but more fear and more lack
I’m not smart enough to always be aligned
But I’m smart enough to know when I’m not
And the pain of following the wrong voices
Down hapless avenues
But down those roads we get ravaged by demons
With self judgment and self condemnation
It was all a set up by the demons who gang stalk us and then jump us in the midst of our failures
They move in with words like knives
Meant to cut and take us out.
The good news is that at anytime
We can seek first his kingdom and his righteousness
We can hold out for his revelations
And then line ourselves up again on his pathway home
Where all these things will be
Given to us as well
The kingdom and the righteousness
The love of surrender
The front line on the spiritual battlefield that is our pursuits and our dreams
Flapping our wings for earthly success
Fame fortune and power
Isn’t the point of what motivates us
But we are here to act as well
We are here to bring something forward
So ambition itself is no bad thing
Unless it veers towards obsession and obliteration
Of seeking first his kingdom and righteousness
Think of this verse as the steering wheel
Keeping our direction clear and straight
And by sinning we simply
Go off road
Sin itself is just an archery term which means
Off the mark
So we correct our direction and our aim
We seek his light to illuminate our way back on the righteous path
Where our energies won’t be wasted or in vain
Help me father
To find my way back to you
Forgive me father for losing my way
Carry away these negative attitudes and behaviors
And the fear that drives them
Help me to seek first your kingdom and your righteousness
And help me to lead others to do the same
A prayer can help us find our way home
For on our own volition we can only do so much
Bat away the voices of condemnation
And begin again from where we are now
Forgive and let go
And that goes for yourself as well
Seek first his kingdom
What is his kingdom?
It’s a kingdom of love
Of grace
Of mercy
Of new days dawning
Of generosity
Of forgiveness
Of no anger
Of no guilt
Of perfect harmony
Of music and light
Of fearlessness
Of hope
And anything that tarnishes anything on that list that arises in our battered minds
Is not of his kingdom
But from the fear and damnation of the world
His kingdom is made of freedom and love
And so when we operate out of those qualities
Are work resonates on those frequencies as well
So that we invite into our world
The blessings from the kingdom of God
It’s a simple equation
That is easy to forget
To spring out of bed
Motivated by fear and anxiety is nothing but the gravity of the world
But when we seek first his kingdom of freedom
And his clarity of love
The fruits of our labor shall not be wasted
Or scattered on roads of fear.
