#100daysofpractice day 18. Rhythm again (you can never work enough on rhythm). A while ago I realized that 16th-note triplets in swing time were foreign creatures to me. I just didn’t have a good feel for where they landed. So today I worked on 16th notes in 12/8. Bembe clave in left hand over a blues in Gb, metronome every 2 bars, doing my level best not to rush (not easy for me). Isn’t it cool how this feels fast and slow at the same time?
