Ray Wilson | Long May You Run (Neil Young cover) | Live from home lockdown sessions 2020

It was March 18th 2020 when Ray Wilson recorded his first "Un-tour" song, and share it with everyone the next day via his official channels. The idea was to keep on rockin' during the pandemic stop, staying in contact with all of you, and showing the power of music even in difficult times, with some special acoustic performances recorded at home - or as McCartney uses to say "made in rockdown" - with some stories and chat.

The first track selected was a beautiful cover of "Long May You Run", the title track from an amazing 1976 album credited to the Stills–Young Band, a collaboration between Stephen Stills and Neil Young. The original song was an elegy for Neil Young's first car (nicknamed "Mort"), a 1948 Buick Roadmaster hearse (yes, a hearse) that broke in 1962 when its transmission blew in Blind River, Ontario.

"Long May You Run" often appeared in many Ray's acoustic shows through the years and it's one of his favourite tracks.
