Kat Edwards - Safety (Visualiser)

Safety was written during the decline of my first long term relationship. I was watching this person slowly fall out of love with me and in turn I watched myself fill with doubt, anger and insecurity. I didn’t want to be in this relationship just because it was comfortable. I didn’t want to be a second choice - for anybody. Writing this song was a way of demanding better, not from them, but from myself.

Last night
Words were said
Some things you can take back
Others just spread
Like an infection
Straight to my brain
I wanna make it known
You'll never break my heart again
Never break my heart again

Last night
Across the room
I saw your eyes fall on
Someone new
Felt my blood boil
Straight up the spine
How do i weigh up
To everyone in line?
Ooh ooh
Too many chances
Ooh ooh
I'm handing them out
Ooh ooh
Too many chances
And they're all the house

Well i don't wanna be anybody's safety
I don't wanna be anybody's maybe

Last night
Left me estranged
Somethin’ out of body
I cannot explain
Felt it wash
Over me
Taking control
Am i a monster
For wanting it all?

Ooh ooh
Too many chances
Ooh ooh
I'm handing them out
Ooh ooh
Too many chances
And you
Fill me with doubt

well i don't wanna be anybody's safety
I don't wanna be anybody's maybe

I know when the morning light comes
roll over straight back into your arms
I know when the morning light comes (comes)
roll over straight back into your arms (arms, arms arms)

I don’t wanna be anybody’s safety
I don’t wanna be anybody’s maybe
I don’t wanna be anybody’s safety
I don’t wanna be anybody’s maybe

I know when the morning light comes
Roll over straight back into your arms
