Chris Wright - Freckled

I put the sun onto my back
My skin look freckled
My eyes all glass
And I watch the shadows take the waves
The moonlight settles
I start my day

White tee, gym shorts, headbands for long hair
Shuffle out of my apartment door, don’t belong here
See my neighbor sitting on the stairs, get a strong stare
Well, It’s been a long year
Car keys, silhouettes, cigarette smoke cough
Only second hand, till that hand finally broke off
Still I miss the band, and the plans, and the roll calls
Well, It’s been a slow fall
Now my shadow really stretching me thin
Between my secrets and my pockets i got so many sins
Let ‘em out in tiny whispers but they’re lost in the wind
It’s all fleeting, from my lovers to my oldest of friends
And I can see it on my skin, feel the ash in my hair
Ain’t feeling nothing, had this passion but ain’t nobody care
I got the same shirt everyday, I wear till it tears
In gods eyes, I know everything is coming in pairs, so let me run
Skin peel
Sun turned down
Baby can we Inhale
Get no words out, cause I’ve
Been frail
I got burned out
Yeah, I've been burned out
