John Legend on 'Voice' Return & Why He Didn't Wait to Release Music During Quarantine

NBC's The Voice is returning on Oct. 19, and ahead of the 19th season premiere, coach John Legend caught fans up on what he's been up to in quarantine, and releasing his Bigger Love album "that I am so proud of and I put so much love into."

"Bigger Love was such a labor of love for me," he explained. "I couldn't imagine waiting until the pandemic was over to put it out because we don't even know when it's going to be over, we don't know when we can all get back together and physically enjoy the music together. So, I just wanted to give it to the people when it was ready."

"Times are tough, people are stressed and uncertain and worried, and I feel like music can help us get through moments like this, so I wanted people to have it," he continued.

As for returning (in person) for season 19 alongside fellow coaches Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson and Gwen Stefani, Legend shared that "it's really exciting to be back with the old gang back together. We're having a great time."
