All Right! Matthew McConaughey Drops the Soundtrack of His Life on Spotify: Exclusive Video

Play it from the beginning! Matthew McConaughey dropped a Spotify show that's basically the soundtrack of his life on Tuesday (Oct. 20).

In an exclusive video shared with Billboard, the celebrated actor explains of his show, which is part of Spotify's "Shows With Music" feature, how music has helped him.

"I've put together for you some licks that have helped me find my frequency over the years," he shares in the clip above. "You know, we all split our differentials from time to time -- find ourselves in need of some serious recalibration."

"In those times of need when we need to find our balance again, music has been a great friend of mine," he continues. "Sometimes for the lyrics, sometimes for the rhythm, sometimes for the reason, but most always for the rhyme, getting me back in line and on time so I can find my frequency again. ... I hope you enjoy the ride!"

The roughly hourlong show features songs selected by McConaughey -- including John Mellencamp's "Pink Houses," U2's "Silver and Gold," Aloe Blacc's "Green Lights," and more. In the show, whose release was timed to the release of his memoir Greenlights, the Oscar-winning actor also explains to listeners the importance of the tunes to him, as well as personal anecdotes, including how Dwight Yoakam once helped him move on after a friend's death.
