Arctic Monkeys Announce New Live Album for Charity

Just two years ago, Arctic Monkeys released their sixth studio album, Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino, and toured to promote it. Now, come Dec. 4, fans will be treated to a live album from the band's stop at Royal Albert Hall.

Arctic Monkeys – Live at the Royal Albert Hall, will feature 20 of the band's career-spanning hits, from "I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor" to "Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High?" among others. All proceeds from the album will benefit War Child UK, a charity for children impacted by conflict, which is entering 2021 with a £2 million (almost $2.6 million) deficit caused by COVID-19.

Said the band in a statement: “On June 7, 2018 we played a very special show at London’s Royal Albert Hall. All the proceeds from that memorable night were donated to War Child UK in support of the vital work they do protecting, educating and rehabilitating children who have experienced the trauma of conflict and the horror of war. The situation that was bad in 2018 is now desperate and those children and their families need our help more than ever. To enable War Child UK to reduce their funding deficit and continue their valuable work, we are happy to be able to release a live album, recorded that evening at The Royal Albert Hall. All proceeds will go direct to the charity. We thank all our fans in advance for their support of this release and in turn for their support of War Child UK."

War Child UK aims to aid children in war zones, where cramped conditions in refugee camps can drive the spread of COVID-19. The charity is helping to distribute hygiene kits, PPE and sanitation guidance. It's also providing essential food packages and home education packs, plus offering lessons via WhatsApp and email.

Arctic Monkeys – Live at the Royal Albert Hall will be available in limited clear double vinyl (which comes with an exclusive concert poster), standard black double vinyl, a double CD and digitally.
