Dua Lipa Throws a Joyful Living Room Party For NPR Tiny Desk Home Concert

We've all gotten used to watching concerts from the couch over the past nine months. So when it came to creating a mood for her NPR Tiny Desk (home) Concert, Dua Lipa tried to give the distanced gig a homey vibe.

Playing with her band for the first time in "ages" the singer ran through a four-song set with the help of a guitarist, bassist and four back-up singers.

Properly distanced on an orange-hued London set that included a tastefully outfitted bookshelf, animal-print rug and the requisite desk, the singer opened with the soulful "Levitating" and segued into the finger snap funk of "Pretty Please."

The teeny set marks one of the only performances Lipa has put on with her crew since the tour in support of her sophomore album Future Nostalgia was canceled in March.

"It's about manifesting good things into your life, when things aren't quite going your way," she said as an intro to the introspective ballad "Love Again." The set, of course, ended with a living room dance jam version of the singer's smash hit "Don't Start Now." And, even though we're all still stuck at home for a bit longer as the COVID-19 pandemic rages out of control across the country, Lipa has been doing her best to keep us entertained.

In fact, more than five million of DL's fans tuned in to last Friday's "Studio 2054" livestream, which featured sparkling costumes and guest appearances by Elton John, Kylie Minogue, Angele, Bad Bunny, FKA Twigs, J Balvin, Tainy and her "Prisoner" collaborator Miley Cyrus.
