K. Michelle Calls for ‘The Rain’ on New Single

A storm is on the horizon and K. Michelle is brewing it with her official single “The Rain.”

On the slow jam, produced by Jazzy Pha and Cory Mo, the Memphis native retools New Edition’s classic “Can You Stand the Rain.”

The seductive tune comes off as a bedroom forecast, urging her partner to grab a poncho before diving inside her love ocean.

The video for “The Rain” has already been shot and is expected to drop very soon. She shared behind-the-scenes footage of the accompanying visual on her Instagram on Thursday.

“The Rain” is a particularly special lead single choice for K. Michelle. She revealed it’s the first time she selected one without label interference.

Just last week, K. Michelle released the auto zone-inspired visual for her street anthem “Supahood” featuring Kash Doll and Yung Miami (of City Girls).

Both tracks are expected to appear on her future R&B album, All Monsters Are Human, which is slated to arrive later this year.

Beginning on November 11, K. Michelle is returning on the road for O.S.D (Over Some D*ck) Tour. The first show is in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Tickets are available now.
