“Heartless Year (Acoustic)”, is a new take on the band's hope-filled Summer-sing-along rocker, with down-home, back-porch instrumentation and textures which place the lyrics and melody out front.

On the heels of the breakthrough success of The Band of Heathens’ ninth studio album, Simple Things (2023, BOH Records), founding members Ed Jurdi and Gordy Quist had an idea to go back into the studio and distill the songs down further into stripped away acoustic versions and aptly have titled it, Simpler Things.

Dishes in the sink building up resentment
