Shirley Bassey - Make The World a Little Younger / The Shadow of Your Smile (1979 TV Series)

REMASTERED CLIP (1979 Shirley Bassey TV Shows)

Shirley performs two songs, 1) Make The World a Little Younger, 2) The Shadow of Your Smile. These songs were outtakes and not aired during her 1979 and 1976 show seasons. Both the original video and audio I had acquired many years ago are in very poor shape, but I've tried to clean up as best as I can. Both of these songs are personal favorites of mine, and Shirley gives both top-tier vocal treatment!

The song Make 'The World a Little Younger' was recorded and released on Shirley's 1973 album titled, "Never Never Never". The song, 'The Shadow of Your Smile' was recorded and released on Shirley's 1966 album titled, "I've Got a Song for You".

LYRICS - Make The World a Little Younger:
When the world was a little younger
Fairytales were always true
Every face was filled with laughter
Every day brought something new
Summertime seemed to last forever
Friends would come and friends would go
But their warmth would always linger
In the days when time ran slow
Make the world a little younger
Let the laughter in
Yesterday was filled with magic
Bring it back again
Make the world a little younger
Wear a happy face
Make the world a little younger
Life's a brighter place
When the world a little younger
Love was just a smile away
There was time for going fishing
And the games we used to play
Make the world a little younger
Let the laughter in
Yesterday was filled with magic
Bring it back again
Make the world a little younger
Let the laughter in
Yesterday was filled with magic
Bring it back again
Make the world a little younger
Let the laughter in
Yesterday was filled with magic
Bring it back again
Make the world a little younger
Let the laughter in
Yesterday was filled with magic
Bring it back again

LYRICS - The Shadow of Your Smile:
One day we walked along the sand
One day in early spring you held a piper in your hand
To mend it's broken wing
Now I remember many a day and many a lonely mile
The echo of a piper song, the shadow of a smile

The shadow of your smile when you are gone
Will color all my dreams and light the dawn
Look into my eyes, my love, and see all the lovely things
You are, to me our wistful little star was far too high

A teardrop kissed your lips and so did I
Now when I remember spring all the joy
That the love can bring I will be remembering
The shadow of your smile
