Hello World! Today I am completely over the moon to share my new music video "In The Mirror", just a few months ago, it felt like an eternity since I made a music video and the stagnation was really getting to me, so today as I share yet another music video after my latest one "Too Close", I feel truly lucky to have this opportunity to turn my ideas into reality.
Where do I start about In The Mirror? I wrote this song last year, this song was born out of interactions that were not perfect, it was a result of conversations, inspirations from TV shows, stories and ultimately, a lot of thought went into crafting this song. With this song, I wanted to reflect on my experiences as a woman, of having my feelings invalidated and in turn picking up insidious feelings of unworthiness, it’s weird because it almost feels like you’re carrying someone else’s negative emotion and I guess that’s what happens when someone is unkind to you - it’s almost like a butterfly effect that travels from one person to another but what I’ve found is that making art about such experiences turns it into something beautiful. Ultimately, I wanted the song to have a “Sorry, not sorry” vibe, like whatever, I no longer care if someone has an issue with me or if I am not enough for them, it’s their problem, not mine. With this, I proudly present "In The Mirror".
